The Housing Ombudsman has launched an investigation into the way housing organisations respond to damp and mould issues, and they want to hear from you.

By sharing your evidence and experiences, you can also help the Housing Ombudsman Service understand the effect that damp and mould has on residents. This information will be used to make recommendations to help social landlords improve the way they deal with these issues for the benefit of residents.

The Housing Ombudsman would like to hear your thoughts on:

  • What you think are the main cause(s) of damp and mould;
  • Whether you think the causes of damp and mould difficult to identify;
  • Whether you think the causes of damp and mould are difficult to address;
  • What support is offered to residents while damp and mould issues are being looked into; and
  • Has a damp or mould situation led to changes in the way a landlord operates.
