Our housing support service is bringing together organisations from across the town who can offer support to local people.

The event is free-of-charge and will take place in Eastfield Park, near the Skiddaw Walk entrance on Monday 15th August, 10am – 2pm. Local organisations including will be attending to talk about the support they can offer local people in areas such as money management, eating well, and their mental health and wellbeing.

James Clarke, housing team manager at NPH said:

“Our housing support team works hard to help residents manage their tenancies and stay in their homes, while also improving their wellbeing. We work closely with many of the organisations joining us at this event to offer the support our residents need, and we’re delighted they’ll be joining us. With the cost of living going up, we know the support we all offer will become even more vital to residents, and we hope that people living in the area will join us for a positive event where they can also find the help and support they need.”

Our support service is a team of specialist support and welfare staff, who work with a wide range of residents who need support to manage their tenancies. This includes care leavers, survivors of domestic abuse, hoarders, people with addiction and those experiencing mental health problems. The team offers support with budgeting and managing finances, helping to claim benefits, accessing specialists, and gaining the skills needed to live independently.

The team works closely with our financial inclusion officers who will also be attending the event. Together, the teams can support with managing budgets, making sure residents are receiving the money they are entitled to, and debt advice.

Any NPH resident in need of support can request help from the team, and this is completely free of charge.
