The government's new deal for social housing

The Government wants to hear the views of residents up and down the country on the way social housing is regulated. They want to know what works well and what does not.

This is all part of their social housing green paper published in August 2018 which sets out the government’s intention to carry out a review of regulation of social housing.

There are a few reasons why the review is going ahead:

  • Just under a fifth of all households live in the social rented sector
  • The fire at Grenfell Tower
  • A desire to make sure residents views are heard and taken into account.

The Government Minister for Housing, Communities & Local Government has already visited events across the country to hear the views of residents and housing organisations.

Our Tenants Panel have had a chance to share their views.

You can still give us your views online by answering a few simple questions.

Tell us what you think here.

Our survey will close on 30th October.
