Regarding trees in tenant’s own gardens, NPH only hold information from June 2018 from when Continental took on the contract for NPH managed land. Previous to this date, requests to carry out work in tenant’s own gardens was arranged via the respective Team Leader. Given the number of transactions and complexity involved prior to 2018, NPH are unable to provide the required information.

Currently, the policy on recharges does not cover the cost of tree maintenance, although tenants are initially advised about their responsibilities for the maintenance of trees in their gardens.

NPH can advise that each order carried out involved trees in a dangerous condition or where structural damage was being caused.

The following data is available from the records held:

Date Number of Orders Cost £ Number of charges made Number of Waived charges
June 2018 to March 2019 1* £292 0 1
April 2019 to March 2020 11 £10,433 0 11
April 2020 to date 14 £15,984 0 14

*Requests may have been made separately by Tenancy Management and therefore not included in this data.
