NPH introduced estate inspections in 2024 primarily to give our residents the opportunity to let us know about environmental and physical concerns in their immediate neighbourhood. The other aim is to proactively identify issues on these estates that NPH can address or refer to partner agencies. It is our hope that these inspections make the estates a nicer and safer environment for our tenants and residents to live in.
Housing officers will be responsible for conducting the estate inspections, but they will need your help. We will text residents living in these areas to ask for their participation by completing a quick survey before an estate inspection. The results of the survey will hopefully identify the areas of land managed by NPH you would like our officers to focus on, such as:
- Grounds maintenance
- Fly tipping/littering
- External repairs
- Car parking facilities
- Abandoned vehicles
- Garage blocks
- Pathway repairs
- Areas of Anti-Social behaviour concern
- Vandalism (including graffiti)
- Caretaking standards
- Signage
In advance of the inspections your feedback helps us proactively sort out issues as we spot them or when you draw attention to them, as well as identifying any potential longer-term improvements that can be made. Please share your views via the text message survey link to help us make the inspection as productive as possible and visit the most useful areas.
Any issue picked up during the inspections is reported for immediate action or if it relates to a longer-term estate improvement proposal, it is referred to the relevant department for further consideration. Issues reported to us that are within the remit of West Northamptonshire Council (such as potholes and some communal green spaces) will be referred for their attention. Any fly tipping on WNC land can be reported directly through their website here, alternatively you can download the West Northamptonshire Council app on a mobile device.
Estate inspections will take place annually between June and August so please do respond to the short survey within the text message when you receive it, to help us focus our attention on the prominent issues for you in your area.
