Community Action Day in Ecton Brook – Thursday 18th October

News Date:
Thursday, October 11, 2018

Local organisations including Northampton Partnership Homes and Northampton’s Neighbourhood Policing Team will be in Mushroom Field Road on Thursday 18th October to tackle fly tipping in the area.

An increase in fly tipping has been reported on Mushroom Field Road. NPH’s Tenancy Compliance Team will be talking to residents to gather evidence alongside members of Environmental Health and the Police. The Council and NPH’s Grounds Maintenance Teams Ideverde and Continental Landscapes will also be on hand to tackle specific issues in the area.

Sally Jordan, part of Ecton Brook Residents Association has been reporting fly tipping since she moved to Ecton Brook:

“We [The Residents Association] were formed just over a year ago and we have undertaken several community litter picks. I was fed up by the fly tipping, litter and general lack of care on the estate. I want Ecton to be a vibrant area where people love where you live”.

Led by Northampton Partnership Homes’ Tenancy Compliance Team the event will raise awareness of how to report common issues like fly tipping and how residents can work together to collect evidence in order to tackle anti-social behaviour.

On the day there will be a litter pick organised by the Northampton Borough Council Neighbourhood Warden for Ecton Brook and Ecton Brook Residents Association. Residents are invited to grab a litter picker and join NPH and their partners in the community litter pick. All equipment will be provided for.

The event will start at 10am meeting in the car park outside blocks no 42 – 47 Mushroom Field Road.
